Arthur Agatston, MD
Arthur Agatston, MD (Miami Beach, Florida) is a leading preventive cardiologist, researcher, lecturer and associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Agatston is a pioneer in clinical and preventive cardiology, although he is best known publicly as the best-selling author of The South Beach Diet. A graduate of New York University School of Medicine, Agatston completed his internal medicine training at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his cardiology fellowship at NYU. He was on staff at NYU Medical Center before accepting a position at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he became the director of its Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab. Agatston continues to see patients in private practice at South Beach Preventive Cardiology in Miami Beach where he resides with his wife and two sons.
