ADAF Research Grants
The following ADAF Research Grants are available to all ADA members. Grants are due annually on February 1st, unless otherwise noted.
The American Dietetic Association Foundation with sponsorship from Abbott Nutrition is pleased to announce the availability of funding to support the development of a nutritional screening and assessment tool to identify people with chronic kidney disease (stages 1-5) who are at nutritional risk.
All proposals must provide a plan that demonstrates a collaborative effort to work with organizations who are leaders in the area of renal research and treatment, such as the American Dietetic Association Renal Dietetics Practice Group, the National Kidney Foundation Council on Renal Nutrition and the ASPEN Renal Practice Group. Application is limited to Registered Dietitians as Principal Investigators who are members of the American Dietetic Association. The scientific support for the tool must be consistent with the content of the Evidence Analysis Library and Nutrition Care Process and Standardized Language. Grant Amount $50,000.
This grant is given to support research in nutrition and oral health or dental education by doctoral students seeking a doctorate in nutrition and oral health or dental education. Grant amount: $15,000. Non-US residents may apply.
This grant is given to provide financial support to a Diabetes Care and Education DPG member for outcomes research in diabetes medical nutrition therapy. Grant amount: $10,000.
This grant is given to provide research funding to a Dietitians in Nutrition Support DPG member. Grant amount: $10,000. Due April 1, 2007.
This grant is given to encourage the development of and excellence in innovative and unique models to study the correlation of diet and nutrition in treating neurological disorders. Grant amount: $5,000.
This grant is given to provide financial support to a doctoral student working on a dissertation in the area of nutritional epidemiology. Grant amount: $5,000.
This grant is given to provide funding for research proposals based on ADA’s Research Agenda for Dietetics. A research question is developed by ADA’s Research Committee annually. Grant amount: $5,000.
This grant is given to encourage young academics to enhance and stimulate research in foodservice management. Grant amount: $5,000.
This grant is given to recognize and encourage innovative approaches to promote healthy living through nutrition and physical activity. A topic will be selected annually. Grant amount: $5,000.
This grant is given for a research project that aims to demonstrate the value of dietetics professionals on the health of the public or demonstrate the evolving role of dietetics professionals in the profession. Grant amount: $1,000.
